The DNA of the Product—Selecting the Right Plastic Resin
Plastic Resin Materials
Not Just Plastic, It's Material Science
Plastic is not one-size-fits-all. Based on performance, it is categorized into General Purpose, Engineering, and Specialty Plastics. Choosing the right material is the first step in product development.
Common Material Guide
■ PP (Polypropylene): Lightweight, chemical resistant. Used in appliance housings, car bumpers.
■ ABS: Rigid, easy to process, high gloss. Used in consumer electronics.
■ PA66 (Nylon): High strength, wear resistant, heat resistant. Used in automotive engine parts, gears (often glass-fiber reinforced).
■ PC (Polycarbonate): High transparency, impact resistant. Used in headlamp lenses, optical lenses.
Modified Plastics
To meet specific needs (fire retardant, anti-static, ultra-high strength), we add glass fiber, carbon fiber, or additives to the resin, known as "Modification." Wanlong possesses a mature process parameter database for handling these high-performance materials.
