By utilizing a specialized PMMA/ABS overmolding process, the tool creates a seamless transition between the structural opaque substrate and the translucent decorative surface. A critical engineering focus of this project is the prevention of light bleed at the resin boundaries, ensuring sharp, defined illumination patterns for the vehicle's signature lighting. Side A is processed using RHCM (Rapid Heat Cycle Molding) to achieve a mirror-like finish directly from the cavity, providing superior UV resistance and weatherability without the need for secondary painting. Optimized for 1000T production, this mold ensures precise shot-to-shot consistency for complex multi-material exterior trims.
